Walford Parish Council recognise that several parishioners have expressed concern over the way in which the Parish Council are considering the selection of potential development sites within the Parish.
The Council would like to reassure parishioners that they are following a detailed process that is laid down by Parliament and Herefordshire Council. This is a legal responsibility placed on any Council that is producing a Neighbourhood Development Plan and the detail of those responsibilities is described in the following table.
We are currently seeking the views of parishioners on how to finalise the draft Plan, but those views must fit within the overall NDP framework. The PC have no authority to vary or modify the legal requirements for production of an NDP, one of which is that all sites offered for development must be considered in an impartial and consistent manner that complies with both the National Planning Policy Framework and the Herefordshire Council Core Strategy.
I am sorry but I disagree with the statement above please re visit the principles of the NDP, the whole ethos is to take the public with you and their views must be taken into account and used in the NDP.
Thank you for comments. The whole purpose of the consultation is to engage with the public to obtain their views.
On behalf of the NDP Committee.
